Stewardship and Accountability: Measuring What Matters in Public Service
Managing public workforce investments requires rigorous accountability to long-term community impact rather than superficial output metrics.
Output metrics—such as foot traffic, workshop attendance, and printed resumes—measure administrative volume, not economic transformation. The metrics that truly matter are long-term outcomes:
- Did a program participant retain employment after 12 months?
- Did their household income increase to a family-sustaining level?
- Did an area manufacturer maintain production capacity because they hired a qualified local technician?
Responsible public administration means holding every program accountable to measurable human and economic impact. We thank our volunteer Board of Directors for upholding these standards across all seven counties we serve.
